A total of 1276 Korean Government’s Global Korea Scholarship programs are available for more than 153 regional students to pursue higher education. All student expenses and tuition fees will be covered by the 2025 Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degrees. This is one of the best Korean university scholarships for international students.
To be selected as a beneficiary of GKS (KGSP), the candidate must successfully pass the first round of selection administered by the Korean embassy where he holds Korean citizenship or the universities designated by NIIED.

GKS Scholarship Criteria
Nationality Criteria:
- All applicants and their parents should not have Korean citizenship.
- Korean citizens and dual citizenship holders (those who have Korean citizenship and citizenship of another country) are NOT eligible to run.
Applicant Age Criteria:
- Must be under 40 as of September 1, 2020 (born after September 1, 1980)
- Academic professors under 45 on September 1, 2020 (born after September 1, 1975) and who are citizens of one of the beneficiaries of Official Development Assistance (ODA) are listed in the table below.
Graduation Requirements:
Applicants must have or expect to have a bachelor’s degree to enroll in a master’s degree program or a master’s degree to enroll in a doctorate Program.
Candidates for the research program: must have a diploma or education level equivalent to or higher than the master’s degree and must have received an invitation from one of the members of the NIIED Korean universities designated.
Postdoctoral research program: must have a doctorate or an equivalent level of education to a doctorate.
Applicants who must graduate at the time of the application must first send the expected graduation certificate at the time of the application. English language requirements/certificate.
KGSP Scholarship Coverage
The Korean Government Scholarship, which is generally called the Korea Global Scholarship, is fully-funded in Korea for international students. All expenses will be covered by the Korean government.
